Joe and his wife, Kacey moved to Williston from Fargo North Dakota in July of 2010. In January 2014, Joe was working on an oil well location when he was hit on the head, shoulder and then foot with equipment. His left foot was first amputated and then the decision was made to do an under-knee amputation. Within 3 months, joe was fitted into a prosthetic leg & returned to work in March or April 2014.
After returning to the gym, he realized the equipment that was in the local gyms was not “handicap accessible” & decided when he received the settlement for his injury, he wanted to open his own gym, providing equipment to everyone, from people with missing limbs to professional bodybuilders. The Pitt was opened in November 2018 & has been growing every single day
